What is a Hong Kong Fake identity card?

When a foreigner arrives in Hong Kong (with a proper visa), they are allowed to stay in the region for six months.

However, to become a legal non-permanent resident, one has to apply for a Hong Kong smart identity card.

Registering for a Hong Kong smart identity card is mandatory for everyone. This smart identity card is a document that has a microchip and serves not only as a form of identification but also for various public services.

Hong Kong fake identity cards are credit-card-size, with each smart identity card embedded with a microchip that has immigration-related data such as thumbprints and personal information on it.

Thanks to this, foreigners can enter and exit the country through automated fingerprint kiosks. However, it is also possible to activate the smart identity card for various non-immigration-related functions such as a library card.

Hong Kong law also requires individuals to carry their smart identity cards with them at all times! But bear in mind that this document does not replace other important information such as travel documents from people’s home countries .Once you get the Fake HKID card, you are entitled to use the government medical services at local rates. You are required to carry your HKID card at all times.

Who can apply?

Under the Registration of Persons Ordinance, all residents of Hong Kong aged 11 or above have to register for a smart identity card.

When an individual applies for a Hong Kong fake identity card in Hong Kong, they have a guaranteed right to remain in the country.

If that person has a family, family members who are older than 11 years of age have to apply for their smart identity cards too. Young children below the ages of 11 do not need to get an HKID.

All individuals should apply for a Hong Kong fake Identity Card within 30 days of arrival.

The Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card is commonly known as “three stars” because the permanent identity cards held by such individuals bear the marking “***”. In fact, the meaning of this mark is not directly related to whether the holder has the right of abode in Hong Kong; it only signifies that the holder is aged 18 or above and is eligible to apply for a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Re-entry Permit. When entering or leaving Hong Kong’s borders, Hong Kong permanent residents only need to present their identity card and are not required to fill out an “Arrival/Departure Card”. Under Section 2A of the Immigration Ordinance (Chapter 115), subject to the provisions of Section 2AA(2), a Hong Kong permanent resident has the following rights:
to land in Hong Kong; not to have any condition of stay imposed on him, and any condition of stay imposed on him shall be of no effect; not to have a Deportation Order made against him; and not to have a Removal Order made against him. If a Hong Kong Permanent fake Identity Card holder needs to replace the card due to renewal or loss, the Immigration Department will issue an “Application Receipt for Hong Kong Permanent fake Identity Card” before the new card is issued. This receipt functions as a temporary identity card but cannot be used for immigration purposes. For immigration clearance, it must be used together with a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Re-entry Permit or a valid travel document (e.g., People’s Republic of China Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Passport, etc.).
